372 Broome Street Conversion

The six story building at 372 Broome Street (corner of Mott)  is being converted into 14 luxury residential units.  The building was built in the 1800s and was originally used to house carriage manufacturers by Brewster & Co. then by Flandrau & Co.  The building would setup showrooms for the carriages.  In the mid 1900s, the building housed DeMartini GLobe Canvas messenger bags.

Today, owner Ross Morgan has collaborated with architect Randall Collins to convert the 5 upper floors into residential apartments.  The building’s elements have been preserved to maintain its original aesthetic – red-brick facade, brownstone arches, cast iron storefront and cornice.
